IRONMAN Certified Coaching

In August 2015 World Triathlon Corporation opened IRONMAN University. Bob Butler became one of the first triathletes to graduate as an IRONMAN Certified Coach.

Becoming an IRONMAN Certified Coach was like getting certified as a Physical Therapist, a Personal Trainer, and a Nutritionist, plus needing a couple dozen triathlons of real-world experience all at the same time. The expert knowledge and experience of the veteran IRONMAN U Master Coaches, most of whom are multiple time IRONMAN World Champions, was absolutely extraordinary.

Now Bob is ready to help you engage IRONMAN training to make health setbacks, injury, and poor conditioning like it never happened… and get you ready for one of life’s truly transformational accomplishments, completing a 70.3 or 140.6 IRONMAN race.

Beginners and Intermediate Athletes now have access to the extraordinary IRONMAN training curriculum.

Perhaps surprisingly, the IRONMAN Certified Coach curriculum is Not “No Pain No Gain.” It would better be described as “No Brain No Gain.” The IRONMAN curriculum is based on science, effort being balanced by rest and recovery, the avoidance of injury, and being compatible with career, personal and family lifestyle needs.

Our program is not a general fitness program. We do not simply sell training plans. We begin training plan development by determining specific race goals, such as completing your first Sprint or Olympic distance Triathlon, an IRONMAN 70.3, or even a full IRONMAN. Then we work back to develop an optimized plan to get you there with the least disruption in your life, without injury, and with enough energy to feel wonderful about your accomplishment.
